Permanent Alimony In Florida

As it stands now and despite efforts by Florida legislature, permanent periodic alimony is still available for certain spouses. If you have been married more than 17 years and there is a need of the recipient and an ability to pay by the other, a judge can award it. It is a “rebuttable presumption”. However, judges are looking much harder at the issue and seem to be getting more conservative in awarding it.
